Introducing: Pas de Calais

“A Beautiful and Majestic Trace”

–  Pas de Calais

With an emphasis on natural materials and a design ethos that balances practicality with soft romantics, Pas de Calais creates a lived-in, wearable collection we’re so excited to share with you at JUDITH.

The brand

Started in 1998 by designer Yukari Suda, Pas de Calais takes its name from Pas-de-Calais in Northern France. This area has a deep artisanal heritage and sweeping landscapes that continue to inspire the brand nearly two decades after its launch.

Combining various traditional and advanced dyeing techniques, Pas de Calais is known for their original textiles, focusing on cotton, linen, and silk.

The brand’s color palette is harmonious with its production, made entirely in Japan. You’ll find signature knitwear, dresses, blouses, bottoms, and outerwear crafted in naturally subdued tones like ecru, sand, and khaki green.

A Symphony of Nature

Pas de Calais’ Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “Symphony of Nature,” celebrates the changing of seasons, the arrival of spring, and an awe in Earth’s strata.

“With respect for the greatness of nature and the mystery of time, this season is composed of neutral colors reminiscent of geological layers and minerals.”

Using pink and black tourmaline dyes, the brand wanted to  “express soft earth colors” in its own unique interpretation, considering tourmaline’s long history as a sacred and balanced stone.

Tourmaline is known for having the widest range of colors among minerals. The choice of pink and black tourmaline dye reflects the brand’s embrace of harmony and purity.
